TATIANA MELENDEZ (Dancer) grew up in Tampa, FL. She studied at All American Dance Factory & Classical Ballet under the direction of Julio Montano and Terri Howell. At 15, she received an invitation to join Houston Ballet Academy's Professional Division on scholarship. While in Houston, Tatiana performed with Houston Ballet in artistic director Stanton Welch's Cinderella, as well as the world premiere of Welch's The Nutcracker. Upon her graduation at 17, Tatiana was offered the position of trainee at Texas Ballet Theater. She performed the role of Clara in Ben Stevenson's The Nutcracker and was cast as a female lead in the premier of Stevenson's Matinü Pieces. She also performed in Lew Christensen's Beauty and the Beast, and Stevenson's Swan Lake. As a company member with Complexions, she was a part of the world premiere of Dwight Rhoden’s WOKE. This is Tatiana’s second season with Complexions.
